Website Design Process

There is a moment in building a website when everything feels harder than it should. The design is fine. The copy is fine. But progress slows and decisions pile up.

That usually happens because design started before anything else was figured out.

Most websites are built visually first. Fonts, colors, layouts. It feels productive, until it stops being productive. Pages grow. Sections repeat. You keep adjusting instead of moving forward.

Planning changes that.

Planning is deciding what actually needs to be on the site before worrying about how it looks. What matters. What does not. What belongs together. What can be left out.

When that work happens first, the rest of the process feels lighter. Design becomes supportive instead of exhausting. You are no longer fixing as you go.

Design is not the beginning.
It is what comes after decisions have already been made.
